TAMS-AC in Canberra!

TAMS-AC met with ministers and attended the NACCHO Members Conference.

Yaama mob. Our Chairperson Cathy Trindall, CEO Damion Brown, and Aboriginal Health Practitioner Sheleaka O'Leary-Cloake had a deadly trip to Canberra last week. Here's a recap of their journey:

🟡Monday - Sheleaka attended the National Youth Conference on Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country. She joined workshops on social and emotional wellbeing, growing the workforce, increasing knowledge of Rainbow Mob (LGBQTIASB+), vaping myths, youth governance, and resilience. What a jam-packed day of learning and connecting!

🟡Tuesday - Our team had a crucial meeting at Parliament House with Assistant Minister for Aboriginal Health Ged Kearney to discuss the proposal for our new TAMS-AC medical and wellbeing centre in Tamworth. Thanks for meeting with us Ged Kearney and having a yarn about the great work TAMS-AC does. Cathy, Damion and Sheleaka also attended the NACCHO AGM and EGM.

🟡Wednesday and Thursday - Damion, Cathy, and Sheleaka attended day 3 and 4 of the NACCHO Members Conference, along with Tom Flanders who was representing the @ahmrc_nsw Board of Directors. It was a fantastic opportunity to network, share ideas, and strengthen our commitment to providing culturally appropriate health care services. We also heard the theme for karaoke was 80's, and Minister for Health Mark Butler MP was spotted 👀

We're so proud of our team's dedication. Follow our page for more updates on our journey to improve health outcomes for our mob in Tamworth and beyond! 💪🏾
